Sekko-ji Temple

- Sekkoji Temple was founded in 7th or 8th century by Ennogyoja, a magico-religious practitioner who trained himself at Mt. Katsuragi.
- The “Miroku Sekibutsu” of this temple is the oldest stone image of Buddha in Japan.
- Sekkoji Temple is also known for its beautiful peonies that bloom from the end of November to January and also from April to May.
